Betty Jane Felton

On August 6, 2024, Betty J. Felton, 76 passed away in the company of her loved ones. She was born October 5, 1947, in West Union, West Virginia to Janice Leasure. She was raised, educated and resided West Union before meeting, marrying, and relocating to Montana. In 1968, Betty and Butch's mutual friend introduced them. A few months later, they became fully conscious of their love for one another and ultimately decided they were ready to start a family together. She was a caring, giving, and loving mother. Betty was an outspoken supporter of her children and never passed judgment on them. She loved each of them unconditionally. In addition to being a wonderful wife to her husband, Butch, a mother of three, she was also a terrific great-grandmother and grandma. Betty was filled with joy about her family's expansion when she became a grandmother and great-grandmother. In the early 1970s, Betty developed a passion for the medical field. She spent several years working as a Certified Nurse's Assistant at Warm Springs State Hospital, Park Royal, Horizon, and Evergreen Nursing Homes, before retiring in the early 2000s. After retiring, Betty loved working in her garden, cooking, baking, camping, going for walks, and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She believed it was important to stay active with her loved ones. Betty will be greatly missed by her family, especially her three children, Mylinda, Leonard, and Harold, who adored her with all their hearts. "A wife, a mother, a grandma too, this is a legacy we have from you. You taught us love and how to fight. You gave us strength; you gave us might. A stronger person would be hard to find, And in your heart, you were always kind. You fought for us all in one way or another, Not just as a wife not just as a mother. For all of us you gave your best. And now the time has come for you to rest. So go in peace, you've earned your sleep. Your love in our hearts we'll eternally keep." Anon. Betty is survived by her three children, Mylinda (Scott) Dorscher, Leonard (Lacy) Felton, and Harold Felton. Grandchildren, Tiffeny (Alex) Redfern, Adam (Taressa) Adkins, Steven (Amanda) Adkins, Brandon Adkins, Memphis Dorscher, all of Butte Montana. Kaneesa (Gerry) Ashlock in Colorado. Tyron (Cassie) Felton, and Anthony (Taylor) Felton in Georgia. Betty is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Butch (Forrest) and granddaughter Virginia. We would also like to thank the staff at Copper Ridge Rehabilitation, and the nurses at Intermountain Healthcare that took great care of her while she was there. Special thanks to Paige and Danika for their special care for my mother. Per Betty's request, there will be no services. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life potluck banquet at Clark Park on September 1st @ 4 pm. Family will be suppling chicken, enchiladas and drinks. All donations/contributions can be sent to an Alzheimer's foundation of the donor's choice.
