Canyon Ashe Crooker

Canyon Ashe Crooker, born in Butte, MT on January 29th, 1996, passed away at his home on Thursday, August 11th, 2022. Canyon was the last of three children born to devoted parents Tonya and Jody Crooker. Canyon succeeded in graduating from Butte High School in 2014, much to the pride of his mom. He then attended Montana Tech for a short while, even making the Dean’s List, but deciding he didn’t need a degree or certificate to know how to work on cars, he proceeded to just keep working on cars. He was often described as a ‘car genius,’ or a ‘mechanical whiz,’ and it’s safe to say that most people who knew Canyon took advantage of that from time to time. Canyon was lovingly welcomed into the other side by his best friends Broc, Keighton, Kiel, Tommy, numerous other friends, and his grandparents Linda Schilling, Juneille Behrens, and Joe Crooker. Canyon is survived in life by parents Tonya and Jody Crooker, sisters Cheyenne Crooker (Blaine Berrington) and Timber Crooker (Michael Testagrossa), niece Penelope Sholey, nephew Greyson Berrington, grandparents Fred and Doris LeProwse, aunts Annette LeProwse and Lori Shafer (Bill), uncle Dustin LeProwse, cousins Chase LeProwse, Colby Davis, and Sable Shafer, and countless friends that Canyon endearingly called family. Canyon had an uncanny talent for making everyone around him laugh until they cried. Those that love him appreciate his authentically hilarious nature. Canyon was the kind of person who would show up at any time, for any reason, for any person who needed him. He loved his family and held them close to his heart, particularly his parents, sisters, niece, and nephew. He loved his friends and made sure they knew it. Though he is missed fiercely by those who love him, who feel the void of his absence, his loved ones are comforted by knowing that he was welcomed into the next plane of existence by those who passed before him, people he loved more than life itself. There will be a casual send-off celebration for Canyon to be held at his parent’s residence. The family sends their gratitude to the team of first responders and encourages anyone with a story to share with us regarding Canyon to please do so when and if they’re ready.
