Darlene Rosalie Brasier

Butte native, Darlene Rosalie Brasier, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 28th, 2025 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Great Falls, Montana after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Livingston, Montana on Thursday, November 5, 1936 to John and Rose (Cudic) Fish. She attended Butte schools, graduating from Butte High School. She and Charles F. “Bud” Brasier were married in Butte in 1959 and together they had two children. They later divorced. Darlene was a true Butte girl and a longtime member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church and later St. Patrick Catholic Church. Darlene worked as a clerk at Downey Drug on Harrison Avenue for over twenty years and following her retirement loved working with the little children in the Foster Grandparent Program at Whittier and Emerson Grade Schools. Darlene worked hard all her life and gave so much to her friends and family. She made sure every holiday and birthday was acknowledged and celebrated. She especially loved and spoiled her grandson Justin, spending as much time as possible with him when he was younger, creating a special bond between them. If you were lucky enough to meet Darlene, you knew you instantly made a friend. She cared deeply for those around her and always lent a helping hand. Darlene had a huge selfless heart and will be remembered most for her loving, caring, kind and generous spirit Darlene is survived by her, son, Charles F. “Bud” Brasier Jr. and Kim McIntyre of Butte, daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Tom Gordon of Great Falls, grandchildren: Justin and Sarah Fosse of Missoula, Bree and Logan Dunlap of Great Falls, Ciara Williams and Cisco Espon of New York, NY and Amanda and Josh Decker of Butte, great-grandchildren, Savannah Fosse, Parker and Owen Dunlap, Aubrey and Olivia Decker. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Rose Fish, sister, Carol Krumhauer, brother, John Fish Jr. and great-grandson, Oliver Gordon Fosse. We would like to thank Darlene’s neighbor and dear friend, Tito Vigil for all he did for her throughout the years. Special thanks go to Saundra and Kaleen with Benefis Peace Hospice for their wonderful care of Darlene in her final months. Visitation for Darlene will begin Thursday, May 8th at 12 noon in St. Patrick Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 1 o’clock and private entombment will be in Mountain View Cemetery. A reception will follow immediately after mass at the Finlen Hotel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mended Little Hearts of Montana, a nationwide pediatric cardiac care program at mendedlittlehearts.org or to Our Lady of the Rockies.
