Frances Catherine Kingsbury

Frances Catherine (Lunney) Kingsbury passed away peacefully on April 24th, 2020 with her family by her side. Frances was born on October 4, 1931 and was a life long resident of Butte, Montana. She loved her family and enjoyed family pot lucks, outings to see the Virginia City Players, and going to her grandchildren’s sporting games, dance recitals and any event they were involved in. All the kids looked forward to getting their annual birthday gifts, Easter baskets and Christmas PJ’s from Gramma. On September 4th, 1949 Frances married Ernest Kingsbury and in 2019 they were blessed to celebrated their 70th anniversary at a surprise party with family and friends. Fran often joked that their marriage lasted so long because “Ernie married me for my money and he was staying until he found it.” Frances was preceded in death by her parents, James and Frances Lunney, her brother, James Lunney Jr., her children, David Kingsbury, infant daughter, Tami Kingsbury and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Kingsbury who never failed to kiss her goodnight or goodbye and continued this loving tradition to the end. She will be missed dearly by her children, Robert (Julie) Kingsbury, Carol (Bill) Biggers, Karen (Mike) Danylo and Dani (Matt) Steel. She was blessed with and will be missed by her 10 grandchildren: Dawn (Tom) Malone, Tricia Kingsbury, Thad (Marcia) Biggers, Thad and Trent Biggers, Cory (Cassie) Biggers, Kasey, Erin and Anna Steel and Alexander and Nicole Danylo. Her 8 great-grandchildren, Wesley and Wyatt Biggers, Maddie and Sarah Biggers, Will Kingsbury, Gavin Malone, Timber Biggers and Alexandria Kovensky all brought her so much joy. She is also survived by her caring sister, Mary Ellen Moe, and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. A memorial service will be held at a later date with family and friends. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and love during this difficult time. They would also like to thank Dr. Yates and her team, Big Sky Senior Living and Memory Care staff, nursed and CNA’s and Frontier Hospice for their support and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Butte Carousel in Frances’s name or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
