I. Gerthene "Tina" Klasen passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Genesis Health and Rehab Center in Butte. She was born September 12, 1925 in Childress, Texas to Alfred and Fannie Jensen. The family moved to this area when Tina was a child and originally settled in Browns Gulch. She attended schools in Rocker and married Otto Nickisch in Butte. Following his death in 1960 she married Bill Rasmussen. Bill passed away in 1972. She later married Alfred Klasen who passed away in 2008. Tina lived in Wisdom for over 50 years and owned the Sandman Motel until her retirement at the age of 85. She was a hard working and thrifty person, was an accomplished seamstress and quilter and loved the outdoors. She had a passion for life that extended to everything she did and to all around her. She was also a simple person. To her, a picnic was always and infinitely better than any five star restaurant. She was also very kind and caring and took in many injured and orphaned animals, nursing them back to health. Besides her husbands, Tina is preceded in death by her daughters, Marlene Willis and Beverly Abbey, her great-grandson, Tyler Williams and all four of her brothers, Mel, Delmer, Gerald and Alton Jensen. She is survived by her Son Richard Nickisch of Wisdom, daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Stoebner of Leavenworth, WA and Terilyn and Hank LaLuz of Puyallup, WA, grandchildren: Will and Katrina Nickisch, Amanda and Nikolas Reed, Grant and Hailey Stoebner, Tammy Stoebner, Kirsten and Mateo Hunter, Robert Williams, David and Cindy Williams, Dan and Candy Williams, Shannon Abbey, Randy Abbey, Fonda Abbey and Carson Abbey. Also surviving are several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Interment of ashes will be in Sunset Memorial Park and a celebration of her life will be conducted in Wisdom at a time to be announced.
