Judy Ann Kramer

Our beautiful wife, mother, gram and sister Judy Ann Kramer passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at her home in Butte with her family at her side, after a difficult 6 year battle with cancer. During her battle with cancer she had three things that were put in the forefront; Her Faith, Her Family and Her Friends. She made a discission after her diagnosis that she was going to build a quilt for her mother, siblings, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and some friends. She accomplished that goal all fighting her terrible disease and traveling to Cancer center in SLC. Her entire life she hosted Thanksgiving, Christmas and the Fourth of July, and it never stopped. Cancer may have made her ill but she never complained or put herself above anyone else. She was the Matriarch of our family until her final days. She was born Wednesday, May 3, 1950 in Montevallo, Alabama to James and Ada Kathleen (Dennis) Swann. She was raised in Alabama into her teen years when the family moved to Butte. Judy attended Butte High School and later earned her Dietary Manager degree. Judy married Tom Southwick on December 31, 1966 and together they had three children. They later divorced and Judy married the love of her life Raymond Kramer on May 15, 1986. Judy worked at many jobs over her career, starting out as a crossing guard, then worked in food service at Montana Developmental Center in Boulder, Rivendell, and later Acadia here in Butte, The Springs Assisted Living, the Montessori School and final for the Butte School District where she also served as a bus monitor. Judy belonged to the Journey Church here in Butte. She was an avid quilter and shared her beautiful quilts with her family. She was an amazing cook, artist at cake decorating, enjoyed camping and walking. Judy was very active in the PTA when her children were in school, building friendships that lasted nearly 50 years. She enjoyed the PTA ladies’ monthly dinners until her passing. She is preceded in death by her parents as well as her brother, David Swann. Survivors include her husband, Ray Kramer of Butte, sons, Calvin Southwick of Billings and Thomas Southwick of Butte, daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Don Foreman of Butte, stepson, Raymond Kramer of Butte, grandchildren, Kennedy Southwick, Tylor and Ashley Foreman, Tyke Foreman, Brittany Kramer, Nichole Kramer, great-grandchildren: Daniel and Chevelle Foreman and Rylee Stewart. Also surviving are her brother and sisters: Wayne and Faye Swann, Wanda Swann, Kathlyn Swann (Shahab Samieian) and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be conducted at a later date and will be announced.
