Lea Anne Dumezich

LeaAnne Dumezich passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, surrounded by her family, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, friendships, and a family who will miss her deeply. LeaAnne was born in Conrad, Montana, to Betty Burgstrom and Robert Crase. She spent her childhood between Virginia City, Butte, and La Grande, Oregon, where she graduated from high school—places that became part of the story of a life filled with family and friendships. LeaAnne met Bob Dumezich in Butte, Montana, and the two married in January 1966. Together, they built a life that spanned 60 years, raising their three daughters in Butte. She graduated from Montana Tech, an accomplishment of which she was very proud. Throughout her life, LeaAnne had a varied career, including working at several banks in Butte, but she spent most of her career at MSE, where she worked for many years before retiring. LeaAnne loved to travel, visit friends, and stay connected with the people who became part of her life along the way. She had a special travel companion in her sister-in-law, Kathy Crase, and enjoyed reminiscing about their many adventures. She valued her friendships and enjoyed the laughter, stories, and companionship that came with them. Her faith and church community were also an important part of her life. LeaAnne dedicated countless hours to Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church. She especially appreciated the camaraderie of the church ladies and the friendships she formed there. Whether LeaAnne was cooking, helping, visiting, or simply enjoying the company of others, the church and its community held a very special place in her heart. LeaAnne is survived by her husband, Bob Dumezich; her children, Kim Miller (Audie), Karen Cook (Maury), and Tina Nelson (Richard); her nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Pete Crase (Kathy), Fred Crase (Kim), Sue Funk, Sally Johnson, Karla Sturgill (Chuck), Jon Burgstrom (Sheryl), Kitty Frank (Tim), and Matt Schreiber. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepparents, Betty and Harold Burgstrom and Robert and Irene Crase; her brothers, Rusty and Geoff Crase; her siblings, Thomas and Victoria Burgstrom; her brother-in-law, John Funk; her in-laws, John and Mary Dumezich; her sister-in-law, Bibber Dumezich; and her son-in-law, Mike Downes. LeaAnne’s life will be celebrated on September 5, 2026, at the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church hall. Visitation will begin at noon, with the celebration beginning at 1:00 p.m. and a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in LeaAnne’s memory to Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church or the Butte Food Bank. The family would also like to extend a special thank-you to the wonderful caregivers at Stillwater Hospice and Intermountain Health for the care and compassion they provided to LeaAnne and her family.
