LouAnn Sichveland

On July 7, 2021, LouAnn Sichveland went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. LouAnn was born on March 9,1941 in Philipsburg Montana to her proud parents Vinson and Maxine Fessler. She was known for her exemplary homemaking skills which she learned at a very young age while working side by side with her mother in the kitchen while her older sister Myrna helped their father in the fields of the family homestead at Porter’s Corner. She loved sharing pictures and stories from her happy childhood. She graduated from Granit County High School. After attending Mr. Lee’s School of Beauty in Seattle, she married Donald Sichveland on February 21, 1962. They shared 46 years of marriage before Donnie’s passing in 2008. They were delighted with the birth of their son Dirk, followed by son Thor and then their darling daughter Krista. LouAnn operated a beauty shop in her home so she could be close by and take care of her children. In later years, her son Dirk and his wife Rachel helped her maintain her beloved home, gave her companionship and took excellent care of her. In 1991 her daughter Krista gave LouAnn the ultimate gift - she was overjoyed with the birth of her precious granddaughter Ashley and was the ultimate grandmother. She was always so proud of Ashley and they shared so many laughs and adventures as well as with Krista. LouAnn was an amazing cook and was known for her delicious meals as well as her apple pies, applesauce, brownies and turtle cookies. You never left her house hungry or without a treat. LouAnn had many interests and was always keeping up on world events and family genealogy. She cherished her Thursday Bridge Club friends. She loved to travel visiting Disneyland, Germany, Korea, Mexico, Brazil, the Panama Canal and even a cruise to Alaska with a fractured hip. Winter trips to Arizona to be with her sister Myrna and Carol were also very dear to her heart. She celebrated her 80th birthday there. She was very involved in her community serving her church, serving on the Granite County School Board, always volunteering and later in life became a realtor. She also had a fabulous sense of humor filled with enthusiasm and wit and followed by a little chuckle at the end. LouAnn loved a bargain, clipping coupons, going to garage sales and always having a 3 -way split of a happy meal with Myrna and Carol. There will be a tremendous void in all our lives and hearts and she will be so greatly missed. LouAnn is survived by her son Dirk and his wife Rachel, son Thor, daughter Krista and granddaughter Ashley. Her devoted sister Myrna Leipheimer and her husband Eddie, her special sisters – Carol Winninghoff and her husband Bob and Julie Slovacek, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and cherished friends. Cremation has taken place. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Philipsburg. Interment will follow in the Philipsburg Cemetery. LouAnn’s remains will be buried in a handcrafted trunk, made by her mother and father and surrounded by tokens of love from her family and friends.
