MARLENE ELENORE KRONWALL WHITE HEAD May 2, 1944 -- December 15, 2024 Marlene was born on Tuesday, May 2nd, 1944 and passed away on Sunday, December 15th, 2024. She was born in Butte and was the daughter of Martin “Marty” and Walborg “Wallie” Kronwall. She was an only child and was the light of her parent’s life. She attended the Emerson School, East Junior High School, Butte High School and went on to graduate from the Elderkin Beauty College in 1965 where along the way she made countless lifelong friends. One of those was her first husband Monty Richard White who she married at the age of 20 on December 5th, 1964. They later divorced but for the rest of her life she maintained that he was and would always be the love of her life. Fortunately, they were able to reconnect in later years and have a close friendship and spent a great deal of time keeping each other company. She later went on to marry her second husband, Richard William Head on July 26th, 1986. They were married for 26 years before he passed away. Marlene felt very lucky to meet her very special friend, Jack Barnes who she cared for very much. They enjoyed going for rides in Jack’s side by side, cooking for each other and making each other laugh. She thought the world of Jack’s kids and grandkids and enjoyed spending time with them and being a part of their lives. Marlene was a hairdresser for 52 years. She loved going to the lake (Georgetown). She loved doing arts and crafts. She loved diamonds and everything sparkly. She was very active in her faith and attended Gloria Dei Lutheran Church her entire life. One of her favorite things was quilting with her wonderful group of dear friends at the church. She made hundreds of quilts over the years and truly loved doing it. Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, Marty and Wallie Kronwall, her first husband, Monty White, her second husband, Rick Head, her sister-in-law Tondra Dowland and her cousins David Downs and Bill Downs. She is survived by her nieces Shava Dowland and her husband Tory Meyer, Andrea Dowland, her great niece, Paisley Petersen (Joey Burdette), her great nephews, Draven Petersen and Wyatt Petersen and her great-great nephew, Nathan White as well as her cousin Kathy Duke of Peoria, Illinois and cousins, Michelle DeSilvia (John) and Kristin Knowles (Andrew) of Boise, Idaho. She is also survived by her lifelong friend and honorary sister, Patsy Mathews (Lyle) who she has been friends with since the age of three, her dear friend Diane Merriam, her dear friend Jack Barnes and her step-niece Trish Miner. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 20th at 12 noon in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with Pastor Sarah Schilcher officiating. Interment will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
