Ada Kathleen Swann Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ada Kathleen Swann passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at her daughter Wanda’s home in Butte. She was born Tuesday, August 7, 1928 in Bibb County, Alabama, the 7th of 11 children to Richard and Ada Dennis. On February 14, 1947 she and James Swann were united in marriage in Shelby County, Alabama where they lived until 1964 when they moved to Butte. Together they had five children. Kathleen worked at the Carousel Restaurant and Ray’s Place where she made many lasting friends. She loved gardening and having pretty flowers in her yard. She loved family gatherings, playing games and going to bingo. She looked forward to any time with friends. Survivors include her children: Wayne Swann (Faye) Judy Kramer (Ray), Wanda Swann and Kathlyn Swann (Shahab), her grandchildren: Calvin and Thom Southwick, Patricia Foreman (Donald), Tracy Cooney (Scott), Charles and Ronda Johnson, Tanzie Hickory, Savannah Swann Thom (Geoffrey) and Shayda Swann, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and her special friends, Ed and Mary Martin. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son David, as well as all of her siblings. She was a wonderful Mammaw who babysat into her 80s and they could talk her into anything. She was our mom, our friend and our traveling companion. She was always up for a road trip and made several trips back to Alabama to visit her son Wayne and other family. She made many trips to Portland, Wyoming, Washington, Canada and all over Montana. We Want to thank the compassionate people at hospice and her health care providers for all your help. We also thank Pastor Randy Lindgren for his many visits these past few years. He kept her connected to the church when she couldn’t go. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 17th at 12 noon in Journey Church with Pastor Randy Lindgren officiating. Friends may call at church beginning at 11 o’clock that morning. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
