Gayle Esther Deringer
December 8, 1935 - September 14, 2017
Gayle Esther (Moore) Deringer passed away Thursday, September 14th in Butte. Gayle was the youngest of 8 children of George Lester Moore and Isabel (Schearer) Moore. Born in Hardin county Ohio to a farming family, Gayle enjoyed gardening her entire life. Gayle was a majorette in High School and her twin brother Glenn played the drum in the marching band. Gayle studied business at Ohio Northern and spent her working career as a book keeper. In 1958 she married Russell Deringer and they moved to Billings Montana. They had four children: Mark, Natalie, Cole and Lana. Gayle was preceded in death by Russell and Mark. Gayle and Russell loved living in Montana and spent the summers in their younger years snowmobiling, camping, fishing, gold panning and hunting. Gayle and Russell were proud of the fact that three of their children attended Montana Tech, ultimately receiving degrees in Mining, Metallurgy, and Liberal Studies. Gayle and Russell owned several rental properties in Butte. Gayle loved actively managing the rental properties and could often be found clipping lilacs and painting even at 81 years old. She enjoyed attending the Montana Landlords Association meetings both in Billings and in Butte. The family wished to thank the many health care professionals in Billings, South Dakota, and Butte, that contributed to Gayle’s quality of life right up to her final days. Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes, Salvation Army or charity of your choice.
