Geraldine Lois Murinko passed away Wednesday, December 15, 021 at the Copper Ridge of Butte. She was born in Butte Wednesday, November 27, 1936 to Eino and Helen (Hill) Hakala. She attended local schools and married James H. Murinko in Ogden, Utah in 1964. She worked as a waitress and nurse’s aide at St. James Hospital as well as Silver Bow General. She also worked as a care giver at one of the uptown group homes. Geraldine enjoyed bowling, softball, camping, fishing sewing and crafts and loved holiday celebrations with family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eino and Mary Hakala, her sisters, Mary “Myu” Lingkenfelter and Gale Lester, brother, Walter “Blinks” Hakala and her husband James Murinko who passed away in 1983. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Jody and Sylvia Hakala of Colorado Springs, CO, Jim and Bud Murinko of Walden, CO, sister, Hazel Turner of Oregon, grandchildren, James and Lauren Hakala, Aimee and Jim Selix and Zachary Weathers. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Ethan and Lukas Selix, Ella and Cash Hakala, numerous nieces and nephews including Bobby and Kathy Cleverly and Lena Nelson and her cousin, Billy Hill. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be conducted in the summer of 2022. Express condolences at www.wayrynen-richards.com.
