Helen B. Carden Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Helen Bernice Carden passed away Thursday evening in a local nursing home. She was born in Dillon, Montana November 29, 1926 to Matt and Meda (Thompson) Petersen. She was raised and educate in Dillon and graduated from Dillon High School in 1946. On November 24th of that same year she married Philip J. Carden in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Butte. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1990. Helen spent many years in services to the people of Butte as a pantry chef at Raymond’s Supper Club as well as the Finlen Hotel and the Elks Lodge. She was a longtime and active member of St. Ann’s Parish and besides her parents and husband is preceded in death by her step-mother, Clara Petersen, her brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Francine Petersen, daughter, Janet Carden, sons-in-law, Bob Walker and James Manning, grandchild, Dawn Chase and great-grandchild, Ethan Blakely. She is survived by her brothers, Matt (Ann) Petersen, Richard (Bonnie) Petersen, Kenneth (Caroline) Petersen, daughters and sons-in-law, Eileen Walker, Verna (Lee) Smith, Phyllis (Steve) Garcia, Marcia (Mike) Rickard, sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard (Toni) Carden, Richard (Kathy) Carden, Larry (Renée) Carden, 24 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Carden’s family will receive friends Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock in St. Ann’s Catholic Church where Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials in memory of Helen may be made to the Rickard Benefit Fund at Butte Community Federal Credit Union.
