Jeffrey Craig Wright Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jeffrey Craig Wright passed away Saturday morning, July 23, 2022 in St. James Healthcare surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Anaconda, Montana, Friday, November 21, 1941 one of four children to Charles C. and Virginia (Spraycar) Wright. He graduated in 1960 from Anaconda High School. He attended Montana State University in Bozeman, MT from Sept. 1961to June 1962 majoring in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of the Montana National Guard for 10 years. He was a Distinguished Military graduate (4th out of 80) from Officer Candidate School. He received a Honorable Discharge on Feb. 11, 1969. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Anaconda Company and later Montana resources Inc. where he retired. Jeffrey married Joanne Hope Soyland in Butte on July 22, 1978 and many happy times were had, dancing to the music of Tommy Strickland at the Ranch House. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and an avid student of theology, enjoyed computer programing, loved his dogs, his family, his wife and being a "Grampa". Jeff was always available to help people and did a lot of wiring projects for his friends. He enjoyed the monthly coffee klatches with the guys from his crew, Larry Crosby, Tom Lubick, Jim Tweet and several other crew members, until his health prevented him from attending. Jeff was an extremely positive guy who always had a new joke to tell everyone. Jeffrey is survived by his wife, Joanne Wright of Butte, sons Craig (Liane) Wright of Chandler, Arizona, Walt Wright (Elizabeth Maki) of Grand Tetons, Wyoming, Jeffrey (Natalie) Soyland of Columbia Falls, Montana and Shawn Soyland (Jennifer Pentecost) of Butte, grandchildren: Malia (Dylan) Dahl, Kaitlyn (Anthony) Spencer, Joshua Wright, Carsten Wright, Trevor Wright, Lauren Wright, Anders Soyland and Isak Soyland. Also surviving are his brothers and their spouses, Charles C. Wright and Bob Allsop, David and Jeannie Wright, numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved four-legged family, Rusty Puppy, Phoebe and Putter. Besides his parents Jeffrey is preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Vickie and Luther Bellon and his dogs, Buffy, Okie, Buddy, Chinook, Daisy, Misty and Duffy Do Right. Cremation has taken place. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor James Mavis in St Mark Lutheran Church, 223 S. Montana Street, on Aug. 27th at 1:00 pm. Memorials in his memory may be made to the Humane Society or St Mark Lutheran Church. God Saw You Getting Tired God saw you were getting tired And a cure was not to be.
