Lois J. Ostenburg

Lois J. Ostenburg passed away Wednesday morning at Genesis Health and Rehab. She was born in Anaconda On October 1, 1930 to Leonard and Catherine (Ward) Jorgenson and attended Anaconda Schools. Lois worked in the bakery in Anaconda, as a retail clerk at the dime store and later as a candy striper at the hospital in Anaconda. She married Herb Ostenburg in Butte on August 12, 1950 and together the shared nearly 68 years of marriage. After retirement she and Herb retired to Ferndale where she and Herb enjoyed flying their plane together. She enjoyed her art and taught oil painting and ceramics. She was an avid skier, snow mobile, enjoyed camping and four-wheeling and belonged to her “Club” with five other ladies who got together monthly for over 50 years. Lois is survived by her husband, Herb Ostenburg of Rocker, sons and daugther-in-law, Steve and Dianne Ostenburg of Butte, Chuck Ostenburg of Salt Lake City, Mark Ostenburg of Kalispell, daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Bob Kovacich of Butte, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Floyd Britton of Butte, 2 nephews and 3 great-nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
