Louise Frances Nichols

Louise Frances Nichols passed away Monday afternoon in a local hospital. She was born in Chadron, Nebraska May 3, 1922 to Henry and Lydia (York) Witt. The family lived in several locations and Louise received her education in Belgrade and Jardine, Montana. On March 12, 1938 she and Raymond H. Nichols were united in marriage in Livingston and made their home in Butte. Besides being a wife and mother, Louise also worked as a maid in several private homes in Butte. She loved her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing and camping and had an amazing collection of well over one hundred clocks and was featured in the Montana Standard with them. Louise knew how to enjoy life as well, and enjoyed her 4 o'clock high ball. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Nichols who passed away May, 18, 1995, her parents, Henry and Lydia Witt, her sons, Ray "Butch" Nichols and Jim Nichols, daughter, Georgia Jessen and her brother, George Witt, sister, Lydamae Witt and half brother, Jay Henry. Survivors include her daughters-in-law, Naomia Nichols of Butte and Arlene Nichols of Whitehall, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Montana and Doug Peterson of Colorado, grandchildren: Lori Putnam, Danny Nichols, Ricky Nichols, Raelynn and Robert Klevin, Wayne and Keerie Garbarino, Danette and Russ Petersen, Tana and Mike Knoell, Rexie and Tom Warden, Raymond and Katie Nichols, Rodney and Jennie Nichols, Randy and Christi Nichols and Ristina Nichols. Also surviving are numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
