Margaret M. Morrill

Margaret Morrill passed away peacefully in her sleep October 14, 2017 at the age of 94; "Margie" was born to Yotal and Thomas Cavanaugh Feb 2nd 1923 in Butte; Thomas passed away early in the marriage; later Yotal married John Stanton; John was good to Margie; a Barber by trade and a good business man. John had purchased a small cabin on Fleecer which Margie remembers as one of her greatest joys chasing wild horses and riding them; sometimes she got bucked off, but kept it a secret from her mother! Margie had a tremendous love for all animals; one of the animal loves’ of her life was "Buttercup" a small Whitetail doe deer that just started showing up at the cabin at Georgetown Lake. Margie met the human love of her life Bud Morrill when their parents would play cards every Saturday night and they married in l94l. There were three children welcomed into the world to Bud & Margie-Bobbie, Thomas and Diana; Bobbie died at birth. Margie's kind heart guided her to the healthcare field. She became a Nurse Aid working at Mountain View Rest Home, she also did private duty, then the old St James and then transferred to the new St James; the hospital was in dire need of LPN's at that time, so Margie and several other Nurse Aids after taking classes were grandfathered in as Licensed Practical Nurses; Margie was the last LPN to work the Intensive Care Unit and she retired from nursing in 1987. Margie loved Cocker Spaniel's, but welcomed "Shadow" a beautiful Collie into to her life. Shadow was a gentle faithful companion. Margie loved to fish especially at her cabin at Georgetown Lake and always was able to boast that she caught the biggest fish and the most when everyone else was getting "Skunked"! Margie took pride being a long time member of the "Butte Vigilante Saddle Club " and riding with "The Petticoat Patrol" a precision horseback riding group that performed in parades & rodeos in Butte on her sassy little sorrel gelding "Satan". Margaret loved her cows; every cow & calf was special and named; she lovingly tended to her cows until she was 83 years old! Preceding Margaret in death-(infant son), Bobby Morrill ,(mother & father) Yotal & John Stanton, (mother-in-law & father-in-1aw), Red & Della Morrill, (husband) Bud Morrill, (sister & brother-in-law) Dorothy & Robert Platt, (nephew) David Platt & son-in-law Lynn Jensen. Margie is survived by her son Thomas Morrill(wife Judy) & extended family of Butte and Idaho and her daughter Diana Jensen of Butte, grandchildren – Shawn (wife Colleen), greatgrandchildren (Madison & Allison) of Woodenville, WA, Robin Bridgewater (husband Bret),great- grandchildren(Cody & Brianna) of Monument, Co, Amanda Kammers, Spokane, WA, greatgrandchildren (Dillon & Emma) & (niece) Becky Platt-of the Nassau, Bahamas. Margret will be sadly missed! In lieu of flowers donations to Compassus Hospice or Chelsea Bailey Animal Shelter would be welcomed.
