Barbara Elaine Pickle

Barbara Elaine Pickle sadly left our world on April 11, 2025, leaving a huge hole in our hearts. She was born on October 24, 1945 to Jack and Hazel Phillips in Walkerville, Montana, and attended the Sherman School. On June 7, 1963 she ran off with the love of her life, David L. Pickle Sr. and became his bride, together, until his passing in 2001. She never remarried. Together they had a daughter Becky and a son David. She also accepted David’s daughter Lorri. In her early days, she volunteered for the Walkerville Ladies Auxiliary. She did leave Walkerville to live in other areas like California and Arizona, always returning to her roots in Walkerville. She found her home for the last time in North Walkerville to settle down and raise her family. Here she had horses, loved gardening, camping, fishing, skiing and hunting. She loved to put on big family gatherings, whether it be a holiday, a wedding or just a bar-b-que. She loved gardening and thrift store shopping. During this time, she was working at the Montana Power Company, from which she retired to take care of her sick husband. She was a hunters training instructor for many years and also enjoyed volunteering at the Butte Silver-Bow Archives. She worked at Wal-Mart for a few years before deciding to move from her home into an easier place where she was closer to her friend. Here she enjoyed Bingo, playing cards, lunches out, gatherings, movie night and Wine down. Barbara was a very, very crafty person. She loved to sew, crochet and make gifts for family, friends and all our babies. She made many of our wedding flowers as well as our wedding cakes. She loved jigsaw puzzles and cross word puzzles. A few things she did get off her “bucket list” was she saw Elvis Presley with Becky and Garth Brooks with her son David and granddaughter Kristen. Trips to Canada were great highlights in her life among other trips. She loved animals and had several in her life. She loved family and family was important. She will be very missed, always remembered and forever loved. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Hazel Phillips, her husband David L. Pickle Sr., brothers, Victor Phillips and Dale Phillips, grandparents, Arthur Frank and Mary Ann Sando, aunts, Jane Cunningham and Lillian Williams, sister-in-law, Sharon Ingerson and her dear friend, Lianne Rameriz. Survivors include her son, David Pickle, daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Bryan Krueger, daughter and son-in-law, Lorri and Mark Rucker, Grandchildren: Kristen and Kyle LaCombe, Preston Caldwell, Levi Caldwell, Zachary Pickle, Amanda Kuser (Pickle), Makayla Clift, Kelsey and T. J. Grote, great-grandchildren: Tanner Foster, Kaydyence Berkopec, Alisha Bancroft, Braxton Sena, Jaidyn Caldwell, Leighlen Caldwell, Ashlyn Osmus, Walker Kuser, Mila Clift, Sawyer Grote, Wyatt Grote, Paisley Grote, Parker Grote, several nieces and nephews, numerous dear friends and her best friend, her cat, Shadow. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday morning, April 23rd at 11 o’clock in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home. Interment of ashes will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
