Hal Forsythe Hicks

Hal Forsythe Hicks, age 69, unexpectedly passed away on August 11, 2023. He was born on Tuesday, August 25, 1953 to William and Blythe Hicks in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his father William Hal Hicks, mother Beryl “Blythe” Hicks (Clymer), brother Brett Andrew Hicks, and sister Sairdee Lee Hicks. Hal grew up in Elk Park, Montana and this instilled a love for the outdoors in Hal. He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, camping, hunting, and four wheeling. Hal was always willing to help others whenever possible. He enjoyed working with his hands, and would rather "fix" things himself than pay someone to do the job. If something didn't break when he was "fixing" things, the job wasn't done; much like Tim Allen in Home Improvement. Hal always had to be doing something and was never one to sit still; on occasion you could catch him sitting through Jeremiah Johnson, that was his favorite. If you were fortunate enough to endure Hal's driving, you were likely able to enjoy two of his other favorites, Patsy Cline and Tammy Wynette. Hal was a die hard Broncos fan, a passion he shared with his daughter, Erinn, and enjoyed attending Griz games whenever he was able to. Hal traveled over a million miles in his career, in every weather you could imagine. Hal was so incredibly loved, if only he was able to see the impact he's had on his family. Hal, I will forever bet you a dollar against the Broncos, even if they play the Seahawks (your "favorite daughter-in-law"). Dad, you'll always be missed, but you don't have to go through another winter on the road. Survivors include his beloved son, Brett William Hicks, and daughter-in-law Ashley Hicks (Berberia), and their three children: Jayden “Bug” Christopher, Bryson "Bubby" Clarence Hicks, and Kayson "Squish" Hal Hicks; his daughter Erinn Elizabeth Harris (Hicks), son-in-law Chris Harris, and their two children: Colton Johnson Harris and Blythe Renae Harris; his brother Lance (Michele) Hicks, his children Heather, Amy, and Seth; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members. We will always miss you. We hope that you know how much love we all have for you. Respecting Hal's wishes, there will not be a service for him.
