Isabelle Gertrude Kalarchik

On January 4th our mother Isabelle Kalarchik went peacefully to be with her Heavenly father, husband and siblings. She was surrounded by her family. Isabelle Gertrude Boerner was born on February 15, 1931 to Mary and William Boerner on their farm in Litchfield, Minnesota. She was one of thirteen children. She tells of many stories of the exploits of living a farm life during the depression. They never had many possessions but she would tell you that they were Love rich. Isabelle came from a strong Catholic-German linage; she survived colon cancer 1976 and a brain surgery that was 13 hours long in 1981. Also, a fractured femur that landed her into a wheel chair. She came to Butte when she was sixteen years old on a trip with her father to visit her sister Lucille. She later decided to stay in Montana to help babysit for her sister, who was living in a little mining town in the Highlands. Later the Hoopes family all moved into Butte. She attended and graduated from Butte High School in 1948. Butte High School is where she met the love of her life, Arthur Kalarchik. They were married on December 28, 1949. Art and Isabelle built a log home in Timber Butte and raised seven children. They both owned and operated the Butte Bus Lines. The most precious memories of her life were traveling to Europe with her siblings, going to Hawaii and Florida with her daughters, traveling to Alaska with the Russell's and many trips to Minnesota, O'Neill farm and Washington. Not to forget the fishing and gold panning escapades. She is preceded in death by her Husband Arthur Kalarchik, Parents, Mary and William Boerner, brothers; Frederick Boerner, Clifford Boerner, Orville Boerner, James Boerner, Brother Pete Claver OFM. Sisters; Lucille (Sis) Hoopes, Adeline Nelson and, Arlene Russell. She leaves behind a sister, Louise Necklen. brothers; Vernon (Bud) Boerner, Williard (Geraldine) Boerner, and Jerry (Millie) Boerner. Seven children: Kathy (John) Twomey, Michael (Debbie) Kalarchik, Sue (Denny) Morgan, Margie (Gene) Hoffman, Christine (Phillip) Nel, Rose (Ross) 0'Neil, and Joseph (Susan) Kalarchik. The joys to her life were her eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers please make donation to Lady of the Rockies or the Butte Food Bank.
