Mildred Sophia Linton

Mildred Sophia Linton passed away Wednesday morning in St. James Healthcare surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Butte Saturday, August 7, 1926 one of seven children to Thomas and Mary (Roskilly) Kissell. She attended Butte schools and on February 2, 1952 she and Allan S. Linton were married here in Butte. Mildred raised her six children without ever driving a car and went on to babysit all her grandchildren. She was a kind and gentle person who loved her family and genuinely like people. She enjoyed many crafts, loved her game shows and watching Matlock. Mildred had great fun decorating for the holidays and Christmas was obviously her favorite. She enjoyed her Tuesday rides for coffee with Cindy and enjoyed a glass of beer or wine on occasion. She lived with her son Tom who took wonderful care of her until about a year ago when she moved to the Copper Ridge. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Allan who passed away November 30, 1999, her daughter, Karen L. Linton, son, Wayne Linton, her brothers, Gerald, Raymond, Victor, Leo and Ed Kissell, her sister, Marguerite Ryan and her granddaughter, Aimee Hardesty. Survivors include her son, Tom Linton of Butte, daughters and son-in-law, Marilyn Linton of Tumwater, WA, Nancy Linton of Butte and Cindy and Bill Hanley of Butte. Grandchildren include: Brianna and David Lindberg, Crystal Linton, Trista Kremer and Stephanie Cunningham, Kaylee and Jed Johnson, Jessica Hardesty, Echo Linton and Cammie Hardesty. Great grandchildren include: Grayson, Ava and Atticus Lindberg, Lincoln Kremer, Jaycee, Kolton and Kingston Johnson, Nerissa and Gabby Aguilar, Kaylyssa Linton, Aliya and Tyson Mitchell and Marvin Rubusch. Other survivors include her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Peggy Timmer of Grand Junction, CO, Mary Linton of San Pablo, CA, Don and Judy Timmer of Butte and Marvin and Ceil Timmer of Boulder as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mildred received such kind and loving care at the Copper Ridge and at St. James Healthcare. Her entire family extends a sincere thank you to Dr. Wendy Grace and the entire staff of the Copper Ridge and staff at St. James Healthcare.
