Ann Hastie

In the early morning hours of November 9, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, Ornealo Ann Hastie, joined her beloved son and husband in Heaven. Ann was born on January 21, 1945, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ornelda (Gifford) Postma and Abraham Postma. She moved with her family to Meaderville (Butte) at an early ageand in 1954 the family moved up to the Columbia Gardens. She attended Franklin and Harrison grade schools, the new Butte Jr. High, and graduated from Butte High School. She was very much a tom boy, trying to keep up with the brothers in her family. She enjoyed her work as a Librarian at Longfellow school, crocheting bookworms for all the students, and later she worked as facilitator for Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home’s COPES aftercare program. Ann married George Hastie on June 8, 1963 in Butte and was devoted to him for 34 years. She is survived by her children, Greg LaMiaux of Butte, Rita LaMiaux of Butte, and Tonya and Jon Kamensky of Spring Creek, Nevada. She was an amazing grandma to Haley, Dustin, Kolten, and Kameryn LaMiaux; and Jonna and Devyn Kamensky. She is also survived by brothers and sisters in law Tim and June Postma of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Clyde and Jo Postma of St. George, Utah, Mark and Kim Postma of Hurricane, Utah, Henry and Raylene Postma of Hurricane, Utah, and Randy Postma of Logandale, Nevada ; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, John Hastie, her husband, her parents, sister, Nedra Postma, and brothers, Rodger and Nelton Postma. Ann enjoyed spending time with her grandkids more than anything. She attended every sports game, concert, dance recital, school program, activity, and event that she could if her grandkids were involved. Holidays and vacations with her children and grandkids will always be cherished. She also enjoyed visiting with her extended family at the Point of Rocks Ranch, Brigitte LaMiaux and L K Sjoberg. Lately, she enjoyed playing Bunko, Pinnacle, and Bingo with her best friends, Brigitte LaMiaux, Irene Yelenich, Pat Sholey, and many others. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, cooking, reading, volunteering, and serving on the board of the Community Health Center.
