Pamela Joy Ohs

Pamela Joy Ohs passed away peacefully at her home in Butte, Montana on March 9th surrounded by her loving family, friends, and wonderful neighbors of Gold St. Pam was raised in Glasgow, Montana, and graduated from Glasgow High School in 1964. She attended Montana State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing. While at MSU, she met her husband Karl Ohs and the two began their life on the family ranch in Harrison, Montana. They had four children, Brad, Eric, Brian and Elizabeth. Pam began her nursing career at the Ennis Hospital where she worked for a number of years. She moved to Bozeman in 1991, and over time worked for The Gallatin County Health Department, The Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, and The Gallatin County Rest Home. Later she spent 12 years in Billings working at St. Vincent Hospital followed by two years in Butte working in home health before finally retiring. Pam was passionate about being a nurse and some of her favorite stories were centered around her nursing friends and patients. Elizabeth and Pam opened Mining City Mud in 2016 and Pam added “barista” to her resume. Pam loved to laugh and make people laugh. Her vibrant personality was contagious and she was loved by everyone who met her. Whether she was tailgating with the MadCow crew or getting her daily coffee, she always left an impression and a homemade pillow case. Gramma Pamma was adored by her children and grandchildren. Her home was a place of comfort and refuge, and on occasion, a cuss word that you never saw coming. Other things Pam will be remembered for was her tostada dip, QVC, her dog Ruby Tuesday, her faith, Bobcat football, Neil Diamond, cheating at Yahtzee, Cherry Coke and peanut M&M's Pam is survived by her siblings, Greg (Rosina) Rorvik of Mill Valley, California, Janis Rorvik of Helena, Montana. Son Brad (Alissa) Ohs and children Paeton and Keifer. Son Eric (Marty) Ohs and children Aaron, Ashley (Will) Abby and Aubree. Great grandchildren Sage and Ryder. Son Brian Ohs. Daughter Elizabeth Ohs and children Chloe, Hannah and Kyler. “XOXO" Pam is proceeded in death by her husband Karl, her parents Alan and Margaret Rorvik and her nephew Hunter Rorvik. A grave side service for family and close friends will be held at 11:00am Friday the 13th at the cemetery in Harrison, Montana. A celebration of life to follow at the Pony Mercantile.
