Robin Castle “Robinator” Robin was a private person, and though she never said so, she probably wouldn’t want an obituary, or a celebration in honor of her life. But those who love you, Robin, want you recognized for what you were because you were great! So, we’re sorry, but this time you don’t get to have it your way. On March 8, 2026, with family and friends near, Robin Castle gently, and with dignity and grace, passed away. She was a woman of quiet strength and deep resilience. She was born in Bruce Wisconsin on May 1, 1961. Siblings are one of the greatest gifts parents can ever give us, and young Robin was truly blessed with the gift of her brother, Tony. They were each other’s first, forever, and best kind of friends. Together, they maneuvered all the ups and downs childhood can bring. Shortly after graduating from Bruce High School in 1979, Robin married, and began to grow her family. After her marriage ended, she accompanied a friend on a visit to Whitehall, Montana, where she decided to stay. She found work staining log homes, tending bar at Roper Lanes and Lounge, and, her favorite Whitehall job - working with Gracie Gillette at Borden’s Bar, Hotel, and Restaurant. It was in Whitehall she met her second husband Robert Castle from Butte. Turns out, Robin was truly a Butte Girl at heart: often stubborn, relentless, determined, tireless, loyal, dedicated, a listening ear, a soft shoulder to cry on, always happy to lend a hand. Once she loved you, she loved you, even if she didn’t like you very much at the moment. Robin was a straight-shooter, so you always knew when you were in one of those ‘moments’. After Roberts passing, she met Bob Priest, her best friend and constant companion for 17 years. Together, they lived in a home, not a house. They found joy in life’s simple pleasures— tending their flower-filled yard, taking drives, watching movies, caring for their dogs and Kiwi, decorating for Christmas, sharing time with friends at the East Side, and just being together. In Butte, Robin tended bar and managed the East Side Athletic Club, and then worked at the La Quinta Inn until she retired. After retirement, she helped Bob tend to lawns and yards of friends. Robin played a wicked game of pool, and she liked four letter words as much as she loved her flowers, butterflies, and the color purple. She made the best tuna and shrimp salad in the world, and baked the most beautiful holiday turkey. Her pickled eggs were….. well, she could really bake a tasty turkey! Robin’s final few days came without warning. She endured as her daughter Monica, her son Ryan and his wife Mary, her brother Tony and his wife Sherry, raced, undertaking a long, arduous journey to Butte to be by her side. Robin was indescribably grateful for the whispers of love and tender touches they brought with them. She’ll be deeply missed by her husband Bob, who truly loved her to the moon and back, and their parrot Kiwi. Robin also leaves behind her incredible family of friends, Cindy and Bob, stepdaughter Connie, Vicky, Pat, Jill, Leroy, Becky, Todd, and Ed, Other surviving family members include Cousin Paul (Robin was Paul’s favorite “Crabapple”), her sister-in-law Christi “Sis”, brother-in-law Bob, and Randi & Nolan, and Ostin & Frank, with whom she shared special times. Robin’s final days would have been completely unbearable without the compassionate care and support of Honeybee Hospice. There is a special place in Heaven for you who do such loving work. You are truly Angels. In memory of Robin, from this moment forward, ALWAYS remember to live in the moment because you’re not guaranteed tomorrow. Appreciate those who matter to you. Ask forgiveness and forgive easily. Love deeply, hug often, say “I love you”….. because someone that means something or everything can be gone in an instant. There will be a Potluck Get-Together at the East Side Athletic Club at 6:00 PM on Friday May 1st. Bring a dish, stories, memories, and join us in celebrating Robin’s Life!
