It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William Earl Monahan our beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather a man whose quick wit, clever humor, and warm spirit brought light to every room he entered. He was the proud father of three children, the cherished grandfather of four grandchildren, and the joyful great grandfather of six — each one a testament to the love and legacy he leaves behind. As a devoted father, he poured his heart into raising his three children, teaching them integrity, patience, and love for the outdoors. His family was his greatest pride, and he never missed a chance to show his support by attending games, competitions, fixing things, offering advice, or sharing stories and jokes. Family was the center of his world. He poured his heart into every generation, offering guidance, laughter, and unwavering support. His sharp mind and playful personality made him unforgettable, and his presence turned ordinary moments into treasured memories. Family was his greatest pride. He celebrated every milestone, big or small, and created a lifetime of memories that his children and their families will carry forward with gratitude. His legacy lives on in the laughter he inspired, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. He was known for his quick wit and the kind of humor that could lift a room. Beneath that playful spirit was a deeply loving heart-steady, generous, and always ready to support the people he cared about. Whether offering a clever remark, a warm hug, or a quiet moment of understanding, he had a way of making those around him feel seen and loved. Throughout his life, he worked for Safeway in the produce department and the milk plant a combination of 30 years, Johns Pork Chop 20 years, and the YMCA for 28 years. Outside of work he found joy in spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, tinkering in his garage, and fixing and building things. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by all who were lucky enough to know him. He was preceded in death by those he loved and missed deeply, whose memories he carried with him throughout his life. His parents Willaim and Marie Monahan, brother Frank Monahan, mother and father-in-law Robert and Helen Hogan, brother in-law Jack Hogan, sisters-in-law Nila Hogan and Nonnie Monahan, daughter-in-law Reesa Monahan. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Maxine Monahan, his children Mike Monahan, Michelle (Bill) St. Pierre, Tina Monahan. Grandchildren Byron (Amanda) St. Pierre, Jake (Julie) Monahan, Zach (Jessica) Monahan, Alysha (Jerett) LaFromboise, great grandchildren Bailee, Keyan, Zachary, Finlee, Lucy, and Ellis. Also surviving are his brothers Bob Monahan, Ken (Carolyn) Monahan, Mark (Stacy) Monahan, sister-in-law Ellen (Jerry) Earhart, brother-in-law Doug Hogan, and sister-in-law Jeanette Hogan, and many nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends all of whom will continue to honor him by living with the same warmth, humor, and devotion he showed every day. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the LDS Church. Family will be welcoming visitors at noon, and the service will begin at 1:00 p.m.
